Success claims highly questionable

Recent press releases from the Kent Science Park would have you believe that the park has been successful despite the downturn in the economy, with a number of new tenants taking residence. However only a year ago the park had reported a massive drop in the number of tenants based at the park down from 84 to just 60 companies.

Only as recently as December Swale Borough Council were informed by the Kent Science Park that the failure to attract new tenants was down to access issues.

So whether the ability to attract 7 new tenants’ represents a success is questionable, and obviously there is no mention of how many more may have subsequently departed in the meantime.

Tenant churn has typically been high at the park and it would be very surprising if no tenants had gone in the previous year.
