DRIVING forward plans to ensure that Kent Science Park goes from strength to strength is to become the responsibility of the park's newly-appointed site director.James Speck, 56, will head up the team at Kent Science Park in Sittingbourne after leaving Merchant Square, the major office, residential and retail development in West London.
He will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the park and managing the 14-strong team
on site who oversee the management of the scientific premises and offices.
As site director, James Speck will also work closely with local authorities and residents on plans to expand Kent Science Park, which will create a further 5,000* jobs in the borough and deliver a new road linking the M2 and A2 and associated infrastructure and community facilities, through the construction of 4,500 new homes.
Andrew Bull of LaSalle Investment Management, the company that manages Kent Science Park, said: "We are delighted that James has joined us. His property experience and knowledge of Kent made him an obvious choice for this important job at such an exciting time in the development of the park"
James was estates director at Merchant Square where he was heavily involved in the successful development of new head-quarters buildings for Marks & Spencer and Orange.
