Consultee Comments Amend (e) to read "expansion of the Sittingbourne Research Centre as a mixed science cluster supported by the provision of a southern Sittingbourne Relief Road linking the A2 to a new junction on

the M2 Motorway."

Inclusion of two other major strategic development opportunities….

(i) mixed use residential, employment, retail & leisure regeneration proposals for area around Milton Creek, Sittingbourne; &

(ii) mixed use residential, employment & community regeneration of Queenborough & Rushenden, including provision of a Rushenden Link road to the new A249.

Officer Comments The two additional strategic development locations will be added in recognition of the opportunities they offer for mixed use regeneration. The proposed expansion of the Sittingbourne Research Centre

referred to in this representation is very large scale and its impact in relation to the economic development and housing provisions of the Plan will need closer evaluation at the Examination in Public.

Recognition of the need for access improvements allied to any significant expansion of the Research Centre is however appropriate now.
